HARRISBURG – Following the election and selection of House and Senate caucus leadership yesterday, the PA Schools Work campaign made the following statement:
“In a complicated political environment, voters across the country made clear that investing in public education at the state level is critical. From direct approval of investments in public school facilities to the rejection of private school voucher programs, funding for public schools was a winning issue at the ballot box across the country. Here in Pennsylvania, state legislators who prioritized fully funding our public schools were rewarded with re-election. We have made progress, but we still have work to do to ensure every student has access to a public school with the resources necessary to help them reach their full potential. 2025 will be a critical year for publ ic school funding in the Commonwealth. Caucus leadership on both sides of the aisle should continue pursuing policies that provide all students with the thorough and efficient public education they are constitutionally entitled to.”
